PHONOAXIS — VENTURE OVERVIEW Biosignal & Acoustic Engineering Updated 13 October 2026 | Founder: Zafar Ahmad https://zafar-ahmad-5359.github.io/startup.html PhonoAxis connects practical audio and signal-processing project work with a parallel cardiovascular research direction. It is a venture in development. ENGINEERING TASKS - Recording analysis and repeated comparisons: processing outputs, diagnostic plots and a report with defined metrics and interpretation limits. - Python/MATLAB workflows: batch analysis, feature extraction, event rules and documented outputs. - Compact-model prototypes: feature preparation, recorded-example evaluation and export preparation within an agreed scope; target-device testing is separate. FOUNDER ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE The portfolio documents investigation of four difficult recordings, repeated acoustic reporting including a 156-combination report, and an offline audio-to-motion prototype. It also describes a compact-classifier project workflow. These are project scopes, rather than company traction figures. https://zafar-ahmad-5359.github.io/audio.html A separately authored synthetic recording-comparison example includes its source, exact metric definitions and computed output. It is a public demonstration, not a client result. https://zafar-ahmad-5359.github.io/audio.html#comparison-demo CARDIAC RESEARCH The research investigates an acoustic timing reference for phase-aware murmur characterisation. In the October 2026 patient-grouped dataset evaluation, expert-reviewed phase boundaries provided useful information; the tested synthetic-ECG timing route did not establish a downstream advantage over equal-time windows. Reliable automatic timing and clinical transfer remain open research questions. Two first-author journal manuscripts are in revision (status as of 9 October 2026): IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, minor revision; European Heart Journal – Digital Health, major revision. Neither is accepted or published, and no clinical-readiness claim is made. https://zafar-ahmad-5359.github.io/research.html PROPOSED NEXT STEPS Agree focused engineering inputs, outputs and acceptance criteria; deliver an inspectable workflow and document its limits. In parallel, test whether an automatic timing method can preserve the value of reliable phase information, then evaluate cross-device/cohort transfer and the requirements of a supported research application.
